Ashok Kumar Pavadia
Ashok Pavadia’s professional career spans over four decades in diverse pursuits as an academician, bureaucrat, author and management expert. He is the Founder Director of the ‘Council for Research on Policy and Governance’ and he sits on the Board of several other companies as Director or Advisor. An alumnus of the University of London, Harvard University, University of Delhi, and The Indian Law Institute, Delhi, he has majored in Political Science, Law, Public Policy and Management.
He started his career as a Lecturer at the University of Delhi where he taught Political Science to graduate and post-graduate students. Later, he joined the bureaucracy and after holding key positions in Central Ministries of Railways, Agriculture, Chemicals & Fertilizers, Civil Aviation, Heavy Industries & Public Enterprises, he retired as Additional Secretary Ministry of Home Affairs.
For his expertise in corporate governance, CSR, sustainable development and other allied subjects in management, he is frequently invited to speak on these subjects by International agencies, foreign governments, trade & industry associations, and universities. He is also the guest faculty at several reputed academic and management institutes. He is the author of the Guidelines on ‘’CSR and Sustainability” for Central Public Sector enterprises issued by the Department of Public Enterprises in 2012. For three years he was a member of the Governmental Advisory Group of the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) at Amsterdam. He has also been a member of the Governing Council of The Institute of Public Enterprise at Hyderabad.
Dr. (Ms.) Sanjeevan Bajaj
Sanjeevan Bajaj started her career with State Bank of India, later moved to Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. (TCS) as management consultant, and then to Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) as CEO, FICCI Quality Forum, overseeing FICCI’s training and consultancy work in Quality and Environment Management Systems.
During her banking career, she headed the Agriculture Development Branch in Rajpura Town (Punjab), which was also the Lead Bank branch of her area with significant proportions of business coming from small scale industry, trading, agriculture and personal banking. At TCS, she worked on IT Strategy and Management Systems projects in India, USA and UK.
In her role as Project Director at TCS, she won appreciation from Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances, Government of India, for Valued Service as Knowledge Partner, and was awarded by Consultancy Development Centre for Excellence in Consultancy Services rendered for the Sevottam project. This project led to the formulation of IS 15700:2005, the national requirement standard for managing public service delivery and later became the foundation for several State legislations on time bound delivery of public services to citizens.
Moving on to her incumbency at FICCI, she played a pioneering role in connecting the Indian life cycle community with several international organizations and established FICCI’s strategic partnership with UNEP’s Life Cycle Initiative. She co-chaired the Initiative’s Phase 3 flagship on global capability development and later served on its Steering Committee. A founder member of Forum for Sustainability through Life Cycle Innovation (FSLCI) e.V. Berlin, she was its first elected President and now serves as Vice-Chair of its Executive Committee.
Sanjeevan Bajaj has represented Indian industry in several international technical committees on management systems standards. Since 2007, she has been an invited speaker and scientific committee member for a number of national and international conferences on Sustainability related topics. She has taught post-graduate credit courses in Strategy, International Business, and Sustainable Management at Fore School of Management, New Delhi and IIM Lucknow’s Noida campus respectively as guest faculty. Her research and writings have been published in national dailies, periodicals and refereed international journals.
Sanjeevan has a doctorate in Management from Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad, also holds a Masters in Economics and a degree in Law.
